The Left will find any reason to bash our men and women in blue. They have constantly painted the false narrative that police officers are all evil ever since the “Black Lives Matter” movement became a thing. One woman went so far recently to stop an on-duty police officer while he was grabbing a quick meal at a Burger King and attempt to shame him.
It all started when Andre Owen, an on-duty Brighton Police Constable, decided to stop to get food after not having eaten for eight hours while on duty. While he was in the restaurant, Owen noticed a woman giving him dirty looks. She eventually scorned him for eating while on the job. His answer was perfect.
Owen was on hour eight of a twelve-hour shift when he stopped at a Burger King for a lunch break. The police officer, in shock after the confrontation, took to Twitter to tell others about his experience.
He wrote, “To the lady that scorned me for buying food on duty…… I’ve not stopped since 07:05 this morning, not even for toilet break. I’m over 100 miles from my station and I’m due off in 45 mins…… with a 2 hour journey at least.!!!! #policearehumantoo.”

The post quickly went viral, gaining thousands of likes and shares on social media. The Sussex Police officer of more than five years even spoke with the UK’s Mirror after the incident, explaining that he was in the middle of a very busy day when the woman decided to shame him for eating lunch.
Owen explained, “Five minutes after starting my shift, I was assigned to a serious job in Brighton. I dealt with that and then had to drive nonstop to Oxford as part of the same job, single crewed. Half an hour into the return journey, I stopped at a service station for my first toilet stop of the day! While there, I also got a double whopper meal, apple pie, Coke and a cappuccino.”
Then, the woman decided to make assumptions and judge Owen. He recalled, “A lady, eating her own food, kept staring at me while I waited. I collected the food and as I left she said something similar to ‘while you’re in here stuffing your face, there’s criminals that need catching out there,’ I smiled, and just walked away without saying a word.”
He wasn’t quiet for long, however. He continued, “I put it on Twitter and the tweet gathered so much momentum with such positive support,” Owen explained, adding that the tweet wasn’t intended for sympathy, but to show the public the harsh reality of his job. What’s more, his long day didn’t end with the rude encounter.
On his way back to the police station, Owen spotted a broken down car on the road. His shift was already over, but he stopped to help the couple and their children.
He explained, “I then waited for recovery to pick them up, using my blue lights to provide protection to all around. It added another hour onto my already long day,” His shift was not finished until 7 p.m. that evening.
“While it’s long, and the lady annoyed me at the time, I love my job and on the whole, wouldn’t change it for the world,” Owen said.
It’s disgusting the way Owen was treated. Police officers put their lives on the line every single day in order to protect to public. The left wants to pretend that all cops are evil, but the truth is that officers like Owen prove that this just isn’t so. In the end, Owen wasn’t the one who looked bad, all of the liberals who make assumptions about cops and throw them all into one category did.
