Kirsters Baish| A new report explained that a $150,000 donation made to President Trump’s charity in 2015 by a Ukranian businessman is being investigated by the special counsel’s office. The donation came from steel magnate Victor Pinchuk, but it was nothing compared to the donations that he made to the Clinton family’s charity. He has given $13 million to the Clinton Foundation since the year 2006. He also had access to Hillary Clinton during the time that she was serving as Secretary of State.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller isn’t investigating the Clintons, however. He is looking quite extensively into President Trump as well as the flow of foreign money into multiple “Trump-controlled entities.”
Mueller started looking into the donation after he was given documents after subpoenaing the Trump Organization which was the real estate company that Donald Trump was in charge of before transitioning into politics.
In September of 2015, Donald Trump made an appearance on a video link during a conference hosted by Pinchuk in Kiev. Michael Cohen, Trump’s own attorney, negotiated about the event with Douglas Schoen. The New York Times reported that Schoen is a former consultant for Bill Clinton. Trump didn’t ask to be compensated for appearing at the event initially, however, Cohen spoke to Schoen in order to ask for a $150,000 honorarium.
Hannity.com reported that the FBI raided Cohen’s office in Manhattan in an incident that seemed totally unrelated. The raid took place on Monday. It was reported that the search was conducted in order to find records that related to Cohen’s payments to porn star Stormy Daniels who claimed that she had a consensual affair with Donald Trump more than a decade ago.
The Daily Caller wrote:
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation issued a statement to The Times, downplaying the donation to Trump. The charity reached out to Trump and other world leaders in order to “promote strengthened and enduring ties between Ukraine and the West,” it said.
Contact to Trump was made at a time when “it was by no means assured that Mr. Trump would be the Republican nominee in 2016,” the foundation pointed out.
It seems that Pinchuk had a much closer relationship to the Clinton family than we thought in the past. The multibillionaire was present at a dinner hosted at the Clintons’ residence in June of 2012. Pinchuk lobbied the State Department in both 2011 and 2013 through Schoen.
The Daily Caller wrote, “Documents filed with the Justice Department show Schoen and Pinchuk met on several occasions in 2012 with Melanne Verveer, a close Clinton associate who then served as an ambassador at large for global women’s issues.”
The New York Times reported on February 13, 2014, that former President Bill Clinton was at Pinchuk’s yearly Yalta conference. Pinchuk was also at Clinton’s 65th birthday party in Los Angeles, California. As you can see, the two are closer than we previously thought.
It was reported that the FBI investigated that Clinton Foundation due to foreign donations. The findings of that investigation still remains unclear.
