Kirsters Baish| We have some great news for television viewers around the country! Fox has made the decision to bring back the hit sitcom, “Last Man Standing.” Funnyman Tim Allen’s show is full of hints toward conservatism, so when ABC decided to drop the show, Fox felt compelled to pick it up.
The previous six seasons of the show aired on ABC, but the show was canceled last year with no explanation as to why. It couldn’t have been because of the ratings, as they were always high.
Allen was extremely unhappy about the cancelation, and has been vocal about pushing for the show to be brought back.
“Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years,” he tweeted after the announcement was made that the show had been canceled.
It seems that Fox will be the channel to pick up the sitcom. After seeing shows like “Roseanne” succeed, with outward conservative messages, Fox decided to take a chance on Allen’s show.
Tim Allen and the network announced its official decision to revive the series on Friday.
“Excited? Team LMS was in the sixth inning, ahead by four runs, stands were packed and then for no reason, they call off the game. It leaves you sitting in the dugout, holding a bat and puzzled. Now we get the news from Fox that it’s time to get back out on that diamond — hell yes, I’m excited!” Tim Allen said in a statement that broke the news on Friday. “When I heard the offer to create more episodes of Last Man Standing, I did a fist pump so hard I threw my back out. It’s the fans!”
Allen stated, “I could not be more grateful for the fans who wrote petitions and kept up the passion and incredible support for the show. And a fist pump, ouch, for Dana Walden and Gary Newman at Fox for not only listening to the fans, but for making the bold move to bring Last Man Standing back. I’m sure audiences will be curious to see what we look like after all these years. Oh, has it only been one year? Well, just goes to show you — a lot can happen in a year.”
Allen tweeted, “We are back!”
Fans were ecstatic with the news.
At least Fox has good quality shows!
