Stocks Soar As Trump Keeps The Biggest Promise Of His Campaign

Elder Patriot – With U.S. and Mexican trade officials at his side President Trump announced that a bilateral trade agreement has just been reached with Mexico.  The leaves Justin Trudeau and Canada on the outside looking in.

Trump has been intent on ending the fatal flaw in NAFTA that turned a supposed trade agreement into a backdoor for China to access the prosperous American markets without tariffs.

To accomplish this Trump pitted Canada against Mexico in negotiations.  Boy Justin was given first dibs by President Trump but instead arrogantly stabbed President Trump in the back following the G-7 Summit.  Boy Justin chose to believe that he could continue exploiting our countries’ longstanding relationship.

Oops.  Trump pivoted towards Mexico whose incoming president welcomed the opportunity.  Once Trump’s trade team engaged with their Mexican counterparts negotiations moved quickly and culminated in today’s announcement.

Mexico, having watched President Trump closely over the past year and a half, realized the first offer from U.S. trade representatives was going to be their best offer, were anxious to move things along quickly in case boy Justin came to his senses.

As soon as President Trump made the announcement, stocks soared past the 26,000 mark.

Investors immediately realized the potential for further domestic economic expansion putting the lie to another establishment myth about the need for NAFTA.

CNBC reported that the president was permanently ditching the name NAFTA:

President Donald Trump said the deal would be called The United States-Mexico Trade agreement, getting rid of the NAFTA name. “The name NAFTA has a bad connotation because the United States was hurt very badly by NAFTA,” he said. Trump added that the deal with Mexico is also very special for farmers and manufacturers.

Somewhere Ross Perot is smiling.  For those who aren’t familiar with that name, Perot was the last billionaire to seek the presidency in order to put an end these toxic trade deals.  That was in 1992.

This raises the question, why does it take outsiders to get it right?  Are there no patriots left in Washington?
