Kirsters Baish| Kentucky Republican Rand Paul makes no qualms about telling it like it is. The Kentucky junior senator tends to lean more toward libertarian viewpoints, similarly to his dad, former Texas Representative Ron Paul. Rand Paul has been known to challenge President Donald Trump and the Republicans on Capitol Hill almost as often as he does to Democrats.
On Tuesday evening, Paul gave a speech in Washington in which he decided to name names. Paul targeted “bad apples” from the “swamp of Washington.” He made it clear during his speech that he was standing by Trump’s side on this one.
“We’ve got some bad apples that need to be dismissed from the swamp of Washington, sent on their way,” Paul explained while speaking at Turning Point USA’s High School Leadership Summit. The Hill reports that Turning Point USA, a conservative group, ran the event.
Paul continued, “I’m thinking maybe, how about John Brennan, No. 1.”
Trump supporters were thrilled to hear Paul’s comments. They erupted in applause.
The Obama era CIA Director, John Brennan, has been open in his criticism for President Donald Trump and his administration. In fact, he has been one of the most vocal members of the Intelligence community to come out against Trump, bashing him before he was ever even inaugurated.
Brennan recently attacked the President after his joint summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. He even called President Trump’s behavior “nothing short of treasonous.”
Conservative Tribune writes of Brennan:
Whatever Brennan’s qualifications from his intelligence career – and it’s no small achievement to be named to lead the CIA – calling a sitting president “treasonous” on the basis of a news conference is worse than absurd — it’s unhinged.
(But considering Brennan has a “senior national security intelligence analyst” gig at MSNBC, the liberal news outlet so insanely opposed to the Trump administration that it’s practically a stand-in for the “fake news” media in general, maybe Brennan is just giving his new masters what they’re paying him for.)
Rand Paul’s name was floating around this week after he called for John Brennan’s security clearance to be revoked. The mainstream media lost their minds, but those with a deeper understanding of what’s going on in Washington were in shock to even hear that Brennan still had his security clearance at all.
Paul called for Brennan’s security clearance to be revoked again on Tuesday saying, “Does anybody in their right mind think that John Brennan, who said that the president is treasonous, should have a security clearance?” he asked.
Paul didn’t just go after Brennan, however. He continued on to go after more Washington slime. he targeted former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper as well as disgraced former FBI Director James Comey.
“James Clapper came to the U.S. Senate in 2013, looked us in the eye, and lied under oath,” Paul explained, as reported by The Hill. Keep in mind that Clapper had lied about the National Security Agency collecting data from Americans. “This is a felony. James Clapper should be in jail for lying to the government,” he went on.
Conservative Tribune explains:
Comey’s problems are well known, of course. He’s going to go down in history as the FBI director who exonerated a clearly guilty Democrat presidential candidate named Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of national security information while she was secretary of state.
But Paul slammed Comey for the FBI’s investigation of the Donald Trump campaign based on spurious documents from the Clinton campaign.
“This has been spin and innuendo and politically driven witch hunt,” Paul stated.
Rand Paul is never afraid to speak his mind, but this time he really went for the kill. With an audience ready to hear what he had to say, he didn’t hesitate to name names.
