President Trump Just Made An Stunning Announcement on Voter Fraud, Boldly Declares That “It’s Time For Voter ID”

Kirsters Baish| The President took a bold step this past Tuesday evening during a rally in Florida. Trump spoke out against the massive issue of election fraud, showing his support for stricter voter identification laws.

PJ Media reported that the President stated during the Tampa rally, which was being hosted for GOP Congressman Ron DeSantis, “The time has come for voter ID, like everything else.” DeSantis is hoping to become the next governor of Florida.

The President explained that identification cards are now mandatory anywhere that Americans go, but the one place that they should be required, which is in the voting booths, they are not.

“In this country, the only time you don’t need it in many cases is when you want to vote for a president, when you want to vote for a senator, when you want to vote for a governor or a congressman,” Trump explained. “It’s crazy. It’s crazy. But we are turning it around.”

Thanks to liberal America, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding voter identification laws. The left claims that these laws target minorities, in not allowing them to cast votes. Whereas those in favor of the laws feel that they prevent voter fraud.

Trump has explained in the past that voter identification is necessary in order to overcome the “rigged” system. When President Trump dissolved his commission on voter fraud, he explained that blue states wouldn’t cooperate.

“Many mostly Democrat States refused to hand over data from the 2016 Election to the Commission On Voter Fraud. They fought hard that the Commission not see their records or methods because they know that many people are voting illegally. System is rigged, must go to Voter I.D,” he wrote in a tweet.

He sent out a second tweet which read, “As Americans, you need identification, sometimes in a very strong and accurate form, for almost everything you do…..except when it comes to the most important thing, VOTING for the people that run your country. Push hard for Voter Identification!”

Since taking office in January of 2017, President Trump has done a lot to help strengthen voter identification laws. He has been supporting laws which were challenged in the courts previously.

The Department of Justice went back on their previous stance during the Obama era, and in 2017 supported the red state of Texas to push new voter ID laws.

Western Journal Politics writes, “In April, a federal appeals court ruled that Texas can go forward with its law. The Department of Justice issued a statement at the time supporting the appellate decision, CNN reported.”

“The Justice Department is committed to free and fair elections, and their protection is essential to our democracy. The Justice Department joined the State of Texas in arguing that SB 5 met all of the Fifth Circuit’s mandates when it was passed by the legislature, and we are pleased that the court agreed today,” spokesman Devin O’Malley explained.

North Carolina is one of the states that is working on implementing a voter identification law. The voter ID law will be voted on in November.
