President Trump Goes Nuclear, Promises To Shut Washington Down If Democrats Refuse To Secure Our Borders

Kirsters Baish| On Sunday morning, the President sent out a tweet, letting America know that he would be “willing to ‘shut down’ the government is the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall!” Trump went on to write, “Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!”

The President’s tweet came after “Never-Trump” Republicans House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced that they, like the Democrats, would not be funding the border wall in September’s funding bill.

President Trump successfully made his case, yet again, that many illegal immigrants making their way into our country are using children for “sinister purposes.” He went on to tear apart the “dumbest” immigration laws, explaining that if people want to see the border secured, they should be voting Republican in the upcoming midterm elections.

Trump’s tweet read, “Please understand, there are consequences when people cross our Border illegally, whether they have children or not – and many are just using children for their own sinister purposes. Congress must act on fixing the DUMBEST & WORST immigration laws anywhere in the world! Vote ‘R'”.

The President blamed the Democrats and the mainstream media for the laws that are currently in place this past Friday in a tweet. He wrote, “Democrats, who want Open Borders and care little about Crime, are incompetent, but they have the Fake News Media almost totally on their side!”

Fox News reports:

The White House has been embroiled in controversy over the ongoing efforts to reunite families separated at the border who were attempting to enter the United States illegally.

During his most recent weekly address, Trump cited the 9/11 terrorist attacks to justify strong enforcement of immigration laws and the continued necessity of Immigration Customs & Enforcement, the agency which has come under fire from Democrats in recent months.

During his address, the President stated, “One of the critical lessons of 9/11 is that immigration enforcement saves lives. We must enforce the rules against visa fraud, illegal overstay, illegal entry and other immigration violations and crimes, and crimes they are. Believe me, crimes they are.”

A House bill that was recently brought about would allow $5 billion for the border wall, but it would need the support of Democrats in the Senate in order to reach the 60-vote threshold that is required in order to pass. Thus, it remains unlikely.

Senate Majority Whip Republican Senator John Cornyn explained to the Washington Examiner that Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was in support of passing off $25 billion for border security in 2006… when it was on Democratic terms. Since then, Schumer has changed his mind on the idea of a southern border wall.

Reuters reported that the President threatened to “shut down” the government back in April while speaking at a rally in Michigan, explaining that the border wall needed more funding.

“We come up again on September 28th and if we don’t get border security we will have no choice, we will close down the country because we need border security,” he explained, as reported by Reuters.
