Kirsters Baish| Democrat House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi bashed President Donald Trump this Friday after he extended the invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to come visit Washington, D.C. this coming Fall.
The California Democrat released a statement which read:
The notion that President Trump would invite a tyrant to Washington is beyond belief. Putin’s ongoing attacks on our elections and on Western democracies and his illegal actions in Crimea and the rest of Ukraine deserve the fierce, unanimous condemnation of the international community, not a VIP ticket to our nation’s capital.
Pelosi also sent out a direct warning to Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. She told Ryan not to invite Russian President Putin to address Congress, which is a courtesy that is often bestowed upon foreign leaders.
President Trump’s frightened fawning over Putin is an embarrassment, and a grave threat to our democracy. An invitation to address a Joint Meeting of Congress should be bipartisan and Speaker Ryan must immediately make clear that there is not — and never will be — an invitation for a thug like Putin to address the United States Congress.
Back in 2007, not long after she became Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi took a trip to Syria where she had a meeting with dictator Bashar al-Assad, who is seen with Clinton in the image below.
Pelosi met with Assad in order to prove that the United States of America was able to properly use diplomacy, and not just as a foreign policy tool to sway things in the Middle East.
Assad was a ruthless dictator. During the Syrian Civil War, he went on to murder thousands of innocent civilians. As you can see, Pelosi seemed all too happy to shake his hand.
It wasn’t too long ago that Nancy Pelosi made the claim that she had never met with former Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Pelosi was proved to be a liar when photographic evidence of their meeting surfaced on the internet.
The House Minority Leader has plans to come back as Speaker if the Democrats take the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections… but we’re not holding our breath on that one.
National Review reports:
Democratic congressional leaders have come out swinging against the idea of a second meeting between President Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin, warning that it could be dangerous.
“The notion that President Trump would invite a tyrant to Washington is beyond belief,” House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement Friday. “President Trump’s frightened fawning over Putin is an embarrassment, and a grave threat to our democracy.”
“Until we know what happened at that two hour meeting in Helsinki, the president should have no more one-on-one interactions with Putin. In the United States, in Russia, or anywhere else,” Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer tweeted Thursday.
The Democrats really need to get over the fact that Trump won the 2016 presidential election. It was two years ago, for crying out loud! They continually try and blame Trump for things that either don’t matter, or have nothing to do with him. Trump handled himself with dignity and class during Monday’s joint summit, despite what Washington Democrats want America to think.
