Federal Court Says The Last Thing Comey Wants To Hear… DOJ Must Preserve His Personal Emails

Kirsters Baish| Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch has done it again. The Gateway Pundit reports that a federal court ordered on Monday that the Department of Justice must preserve disgraced former FBI Director James Comey’s personal emails due to a joint lawsuit that was filed by Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on the FBI’s conduct in handling the Hillary Clinton private server investigation stated that James Comey was utilizing a personal Email account in order to take care of official FBI business during his time as Director of the bureau. The report claims that the then-FBI Director had used the secret Gmail account while doing official FBI business, even after he warned other agents personally that if they were to do the same thing, they would be in “huge trouble.”

The lawsuit was filed in July by Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation. They were seeking a preservation order. The Daily Caller reports that the Department of Justice did not want to cooperate with the suit.

The Caller wrote:

The Department of Justice has refused to take any steps to preserve work-related emails former FBI Director James Comey had on a personal account that The Daily Caller News Foundation and Judicial Watch requested under the Freedom of Information Act, the conservative watchdog will file in court Friday.

“There is nothing but complete silence about why the FBI has failed to take steps to preserve records responsive to DCNF’s request,” Judicial Watch attorney Michael Bekesha will write in the filing before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Even after the Department of Justice fought back, on Monday a federal court order that the DOJ is to preserve the former FBI Director’s personal emails. This is a huge win for both Judicial Watch AND the people of our country.

Judicial Watch’s President, Tom Fitton, released a statement today, explaining that the main goal of the preservation is to get ahold of James Comey’s personal records via FOIA lawsuits. This is just the first step.

Tom Fitton tweeted, “BREAKING– COURT ORDERS DOJ/FBI TO PRESERVE JAMES COMEY’S RECORDS.” Take a look at the video:

His first tweet read, “BREAKING: Federal court tells DOJ to preserve Comey personal emails–‘take all necessary and reasonable steps.” Ruling over objections of FBI/DOJ and in response to our concern gov records on his personal email system might be lost. @JudicialWatch.”

Judicial Watch is back at it again, working on helping Trump making America great again!
