Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has been on a roll this week during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Graham kicked off Thursday by calling the process of handling the allegations against Kavanaugh an “unethical sham.”
Democratic Sen.Diane Feinstein knew about the allegations from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford as far back as July. Despite this, she never uttered a word about it until the 11th hour when it appeared Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh would be confirmed.
As Republican senators Lindsey Graham and Orrin Hatch pointed out Thursday, Feinstein could have asked Kavanaugh about the allegations privately or publicly. She did neither.
That and a number of other issues have lead many to believe that the allegations against Kavanaugh are political maneuvering by the Democrats, who are still furious over President Donald Trump’s victory over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and that Senate Republicans would not hold a confirmation hearing for Merrick Garland, the Supreme Court nominee put forth by President Barack Obama in 2016 following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.
Senator Graham lectured Senate Democrats saying, “What you want to do is destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that. Not me. You’ve got nothing to apologize for. When you see Sotomayor and Kagan, tell them that Lindsey said ‘hello’ because I voted for them. I would never do to them what you’ve done to this guy. This is the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics. Boy, you all want power God, I hope you never get it. I hope the American people can see through this sham — that you knew about it and you held it. You had no intention of protecting Dr. Ford. None. She’s as much of a victim as you are.”
He also stated on Thursday that Kavanaugh had his vote.
During his remarks on Friday, the South Carolina Republican made a major revelation.
Graham reminded the Senate Judiciary Committee that there was a big problem with Christine Blasey Ford’s statements as well as the emails sent by the Committee to her lawyers.
Graham revealed that the liberal attorneys representing Blasey Ford didn’t tell their client that she was allowed to privately testify… in the state of California.
This is a BIG deal.
Senator Lindsey Graham stated, “I about fell out of my chair when Dr. Ford said yesterday, “I didn’t know you would be willing to come to me.” The email interactions between this committee and her lawyers. “My staff would still welcome the opportunity to speak to Dr. Ford any time, anyplace, convenient to her. Come to us or we to you. I’m willing to have my staff travel to Dr. Ford in California or any where else to obtain her testimony. September the 19th.” Well, that wouldn’t fit in the plan. It wouldn’t be public and it would get over sooner than people wanted. I don’t know what to believe but I tend to believe that Dr. Ford did not know about this invitation. And, I’ve been a lawyer most of my adult life and somebody needs to ask the question to her lawyers how could she not know about this?”
Take a look:
This is a huge deal.
