Former President Barack Obama has proved that he’s willing to do anything in his power to try and gain back the spotlight after leaving the White House nearly two years ago. This week, he continued his campaigning against the Republican Party in hopes of a miracle in the upcoming midterm elections.
On Monday, Obama stood in front of a crowd of roughly 2,000 people in Nevada, where he took credit for President Trump’s booming economy.
Then, he took it a step further and compared the current administration to a “tin-pot dictatorship.”
Buzzfeed News reported:
Former president Barack Obama was onstage at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Monday, doing a familiar, uncomfortable job.
He was here to rally Democrats and to fight cultural tides the party didn’t quite anticipate…
…Obama spent much of his speech on a long defense of his own presidency, and condemnation of Republican governance.
“When you hear all this talk about ‘economic miracles’ right now, remember who started it,” the former president stated. BuzzFeed writes that he continued to denounce President Trump’s work in pushing the FBI and the DOJ to “target political foes”.
“That is not how America works. That is how some tin-pot dictatorship works,” he stated.
The Daily Mail UK reports that Obama “delivered a biting critique of Republicans in Congress and President Donald Trump’s administration on Monday.”
Obama did not mention President Trump by name, however he was clearly talking against the current administration’s policies.
The former president gave his take on “fake news” during the campaign speech saying, “Unlike some, I actually try to state facts. I believe in facts. I believe in a fact-based reality, fact-based politics. I don’t believe in just making stuff up. I think you should actually say to people what’s true.”
Take a look for yourself:
Is this guy for real? He’s just about the biggest liar in the country, next to Hillary Clinton.
That’s when things got weird. Obama decided it was appropriate to take credit for Trump’s economy.
He boldly stated, “When I walked into office 10 years ago, we were in the middle of the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes. By the time I left office, wages were rising, uninsurance rate was falling, poverty was falling, and that’s what I handed off to the next guy. When you hear all this talk about economic miracles right now, remember who started it.”
When will Obama get over the fact that he’s no longer calling the shots? All he’s doing is making things worse for the Democrats and their coveted “blue wave.”
