Kirsters Baish| In 2009, we saw Barack Obama just show up and win the Nobel Peace Prize. There was nothing notable that Obama had done to earn the esteemed award. The guy barely had any political experience, but the left treated him like he knew everything. It was obvious that the left only gave him the reward because they had hyped him up so much.
If the left is going to award Obama the Nobel Peace Prize for just being in office, then President Trump should be getting more than just a Nobel Peace Prize. Since Trump has been in office, our country’s economy has been growing rapidly. We have seen North and South Korea make peace after decades of war. Trump is working toward mending the immigration issues within our country. The man deserves more than an award.
What has happened in North Korea since Trump took office is simply incredible and even if it doesn’t work out it is still remarkable that Trump’s pressure was able to get us this far. It’s something Obama never even came close to.
A fair amount of House Republicans agree with that assessment and have just nominated Trump for the Nobel Prize.
The Daily Caller reported that a coalition of 18 House Republicans have officially nominated President Donald Trump to win the Nobel Peace Prize on Wednesday. The group of congressmen wrote to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, “We, the undersigned members of the United States Congress, respectfully nominate President Donald J. Trump to receive the 2019 Nobel Peace Price in recognition of his work to end the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula, and bring peace to the region.”
GOP Representative from Indiana, Luke Messer, was the congressman who sent the letter to the committee. 17 Republicans followed suit and joined him in support of his nomination.
South Korean President Moon Jae-In is in agreement with the Republicans in Congress on the nomination.
Reuters reported that South Korean President Moon Jae-in stated recently that President Donald Trump should be given a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in helping to end the North Korean nuclear weapons program standoff. This statement was released on Monday.
According to a presidential Blue House official that was briefing the media, President Moon told a meeting full of senior secretaries “President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. What we need is only peace.”
Both President Moon and North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un, pledged on Friday during a summit to end all hostilities between the two countries. They are working towards “complete denuclearization” of the peninsula.
President Trump is also getting ready to meet with Kim Jong Un. This meeting is due to take place sometime within the next few weeks.
The left doesn’t like it but that doesn’t mean it’s not the right answer.
It’s quite possible that Trump is the president that will solve this problem once and for all. It’s also possible that North Korea is lying. However, the mere fact that Kim Jong Un was willing to walk across the DMZ, agree to meet with Trump, and agree in principle to peace is something that we should all be grateful for and impressed with.
