Kirsters Baish| It has just been reported that former Secretary of State and two-time failed presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton has caved under the pressure of America and has backed away from the offensive comments that she made last week about female Trump voters. The former first lady attacked “white women” who voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. After a lot of backlash, she has come forward to say that her comments were “misinterpreted.” She also claimed that she “meant no disrespect.”
I’m not exactly sure why she would make those kind of comments in the first place, especially since she claims that she’s all about empowering women. And the big problem I have with Clinton’s “apology” is that she didn’t mean it. The woman wouldn’t have said it if she didn’t mean to disrespect “white women” who voted for President Trump instead of her. She did mean to disrespect “white women” who voted for Trump.
The former presidential candidate was responding to some seriously angry messages in response to her comments. The comments were made while Clinton was speaking in India. She claimed that “white women” only voted for Donald Trump because their “husbands, bosses, and sons” pressured them into voting for him. This woman is seriously delusional. “White women” voted for Trump because they listened to his speeches and heard his campaign promises and agreed with him. They didn’t want one of the most corrupt women in the country running the government.
Clinton posted a statement on her Facebook page this week. She wrote, “I also mentioned something in passing that’s gotten a lot of negative attention. There is anecdotal evidence and some research to suggest that women are unfortunately more swayed by men than the other way around,” she went on. “I understand how some of what I said upset people and can be misinterpreted. I meant no disrespect to any individual or group. And I want to look to the future as much as anybody.”
Leading Democrats and other liberal officials rebuked Clinton’s comments last week. The hosts of ABC’s “The View” actually bashed their former hero for the comments that she made. They called her a “political virus” to the Democratic Party.
