Kirsters Baish| It has been reported that a Florida man shouted “Allah Akbar” over and over again as police arrested him for shooting his girlfriend and stabbing his two children. He also set his own house on fire. Ronnie One was taken into custody. One identifies as a member of the Nation of Islam. He was arrested at the home of his partner, Kenyatta Barron, in Riverview, Florida. Barron called 911 claiming that he had shot her.
Barron was found by officers. She was dying in the front yard of a neighbor’s home with a gunshot wound. Responding firefighters found Barron and Oneal’s 9-year-old son, Ronnie Oneal IV. He was alive, but had burns and stab wounds. Their 11-year-old daughter was stabbed to death.
A friend of Oneal named Walter Ballard had seen Oneal three days beforehand. He explained, “I was shocked. That’s the only thing that went through my mind: How could he do something like this”
Oneal called authorities just a few minutes after Barron called 911 saying, “I’ve just been attacked by some white demons. Her name is Ke-Ke and she tried to kill me and I just killed her.”
Authorities tried to help Barron, then made their way into the home which was on fire. Oneal walked out of the home towards officers from the garage door.
Oneal was tasered by responding officers until he was incapacitated. He would not comply with orders of police. Officers explained that he had been shouting “Allah Akbar” over and over even after he was in the police car on the way to the station.
As firefighters made their way into the burning house, Oneal’s son walked out of the home. He reportedly stated, “My father shot my mother.” Responding firefighters then found the dead daughter inside the home. Oneal’s son was suffering from severe burns and deep stab wounds to the neck and torso areas. He is now in stable condition after receiving surgeries.
Oneal was charged with two counts of first degree murder in addition to a charge of arson, attempted murder, as well as resisting arrest. He was booked in Hillsborough County jail on Monday morning.
Barron and the 11-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled their deaths as homicides. Oneal will be charged with these murders.
Conservative Tribune reported:
Neighbors and friends of Oneal said that they never saw any indication of violence or a decreasing mental state from him.
“Right now, it’s just a blow to the whole family. It really is. We don’t understand it,” Angela Gaudette, O’Neal’s cousin, told WTVT.
Ballard also said that the incident came as a shock, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
“He always told me had demons, but I never thought it was like that. I don’t know what would make him do anything to his kids,” Ballard told the Times.
