Things Just Went From Bad To Worse For Bruce Ohr After Testifying Before Congress … Colluders Can’t Get Story Straight

Kirsters Baish| This past Tuesday morning, twice-demoted Justice Department official Bruce Ohr made his way to Capitol Hill to take part in a closed-door testimony in front of the House Oversight Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Ohr was called to testify about his own contacts with ex-British spy and dossier writer, Christopher Steele.

Republican Representative Matt Gaetz of Florida explained to the press that there are multiple conflicts between Ohr’s testimony and those of former FBI attorney Lisa Page and Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson.

In the afternoon on Tuesday, GOP lawmakers explained that the twice-demoted DOJ official was being cooperative. They also stated that he was answering all of their questions during the closed-door testimony.

“Ohr is not refusing to answer questions,” Congressman Meadows explained to reporters.

Chad Pergram tweeted, “From colleague Catherine Herridge. Amid closed door interview w/DoJ official Bruce Ohr, GOP NC Rep Meadows says the FBI knew there were “credibility” issues surrounding the dossier before it was used to secure the first FISA warrant in late October 2016.”

Then, Pergram tweeted another quote from Fox News’ Herridge writing, “From colleague Catherine Herridge. GOP FL Rep Matt Gaetz at Bruce Ohr deposition. Gaetz says there are conflicts w/Ohr’s testimony alongside FBI lawyer Lisa Page & Fusion GPS Glenn Simpson about handling of evidence & timing. Gaetz wants the 3 to testify together to deconflict.”

Then, he wrote, “From colleague Catherine Herridge. Reps Meadows, Gaetz & Issa say DoJ’s Bruce ohr is being cooperative answering questions at deposition. Meadows says Ohr’s memory was “imperfect” about key events, adding Ohr is not refusing to answer questions.”

The Gateway Pundit explains that “text messages, emails and handwritten notes penned by twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr have trickled out to reporters over the last few weeks showing the very deep connection Ohr had with Christopher Steele.”

In November of 2016, Steele was fired by the bureau after he broke protocol, leaking information to the press. Ohr was simply a “backchannel” for the dossier writer/ex-British spy afterwards.

The former Associate Deputy Attorney General met with Glenn Simpson at the time. He was handed a memory card by the Fusion GPS co-founder. It still has not been revealed to the public what information the memory card contained.

Don’t get it twisted, however. Glenn Simpson was far from Ohr’s only connection to the opposition research firm that published the dossier. Ohr’s own wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS.

Representative Gaetz is hoping that Bruce Ohr, Lisa Page, and Glenn Simpson all testify together in order to get to the bottom of any conflicts in their testimonies.

Republican Representative Darrell Issa of California stated, “There’s also some ambiguity between Ohr and Lisa Page. We will have to go back to the loop to find out which one of them is able to change their story or face perjury.”
