CBS News network’s “60 Minutes” aired an interview with President Donald Trump this past Sunday. While the network used the interview as an attempt to make Trump look bad, it turned around and bit them right in the butt, making them look like the fools.
Now, they have taken a quote from the President out of context, but the video proves that he said otherwise.
During the interview, President Trump was asked about the recent hearing for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford. It was reported that Trump answered, “It doesn’t matter. We won.”
Of course the media was all over it, publicizing the quote in an attempt to make Trump look like an animal.
Below is a tweet from CBS New network, and the context is very important The President was asked about his comments which were made during a campaign rally on October 2nd in Mississippi.
So CBS made it sound like Trump would do anything to make others look bad. Interesting, because CBS knows all too well what that’s like…
The main issue is the wording of the quote. It was more about him being unwilling to talk about whether or not he felt that Christine Blasey Ford had been truthful during her sworn testimony, rather than him gloating about a “win.”
Take a look at the full video to see proper context:
Trump wasn’t talking about the rally itself.
“Well, I think she was treated with great respect, I’ll be honest with you,” the President explained to “60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl.
“Do you think you treated her with respect?” Stahl questioned Trump.
He answered, “I think so, yeah. I did.”
“But you seem to be saying that she lied,” Stahl answered.
The President answered, “You know what? I’m not going to get into it, because we won. It doesn’t matter. We won.”
Here is the actual transcript. You will notice that:
1) The quote CBS cites was in response to Stahl trying to fram it as Trump accusing Ford of lying.
2) On his actual treatment of Ford, Trump claims he treated her with respect. pic.twitter.com/nzveycyTLL

Trump didn’t use proper phrasing in this situation, however, he is obviously just explaining to the host (who is clearly trying to bait him) that he won’t talk about whether or not he felt that Kavanaugh’s accuser had lied. It was an entirely different question than if the Republicans treated her fairly… which it certainly seems as though they did.
It is worth pointing out that if FBNewsClyle.com did something like this with a quote from Hilary or Obama we would be flagged on Facebook and our reach crushed. This reminds me a lot of the James Clapper quote about Obama being responsible for the starting of the Russian collusion investigation. Maybe we should do a story on that …
