Kirsters Baish| It was just reported by a lawmaker on the House Foreign Affairs Committee where President Trump’s big White House leak is stemming from. If this lawmaker is right, there’s more that Trump needs to worry about than we originally thought, and we are about to prove that conservatives have been right all along.
Some top republicans are claiming that there are only a few possible sources where the leak began. National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster has a lot of explaining to do.
Conservative Tribune reported:
Trump had barely talked pubicly about the phone call during a joint news conference in the Oval Office with Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman before The Washington Post was reporting the leak.
According to the Post, Trump ignored “specific warnings from his national security advisers Tuesday when he congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his reelection — including a section in his briefing materials in all-capital letters stating ‘DO NOT CONGRATULATE,’ according to officials familiar with the call.”
Obviously, those “officials familiar with the call” probably weren’t supposed to go blabbing about their insights to the media, much less the anti-Trump Washington Post. And just as obviously, there has to be a very small number of people who could have known enough about the situation to talk.
What might not be so obvious, though, is that the leak itself might be a crime.
It was reported that Mark Meadows, North Carolina Republican Representative and the chairman of the Conservative House Freedom Caucus, explained to reporters during a Heritage Foundation Event this past Wednesday that the leak “had to” have come from somewhere within the White House National Security team which is lead by McMaster.
The Washington Examiner reported, “Here’s the big deal. If you’ve got the national security council team leaking to the press, that’s a big deal,” he said at a ‘Conversations with Conservatives’ panel.
“Quite frankly, some of the other stuff they’ve leaked is actually a crime,” he continued.
“Republican” Arizona Senator John McCain tore into the call with criticism, giving Vladimir Putin’s re-election a legitimacy that it truly didn’t deserve to get. This isn’t the point. President Trump has been tough on Russia, much more so than the Obama administration was.
Nothing is going to change with Russia anytime soon. Putin will remain in charge. Just because Putin and Trump shared a phone call doesn’t mean that the two are best friends as the left wants to claim.
If the “private” counsel that any president is granted is going to be published by some liberal news outlet, we have a big issue to deal with.
This is the very issue that is on track with someone like National Security Advisor McMaster. Recall back to when conservative Sebastian Gorka left Trump’s White House back in August of last year. Everyone thought that his interactions with McMaster had something to do with his leaving.
Only time will tell what will come of all this, but it’s safe to say that there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to our government.
