The Gateway Pundit reported today that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s corrupt witch hunt on President Trump has leaked to NBC that Michael Cohen, an attorney who was employed by President Trump until his termination in May of this year, has decided to flip on his former client. Cohen has reportedly discussed a plea deal with the prosecution.
Earlier this year, the Special Counsel’s team raided Cohen’s home and office, seizing private documents. It seemed to be a clear breach of attorney-client privilege. Democrats were thrilled by the lawlessness.
Mueller has now reportedly threatened Cohen with serious prison time if he does not talk. He is pushing Cohen to tell some kind of story that will implicate Trump of some kind of crime.
NBC News reported:
Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, is discussing a possible guilty plea with federal prosecutors in Manhattan in connection with tax fraud and banking-related matters, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell NBC News.
Those sources stress no deal has been reached but do say the potential deal could be reached as early as today.
The plea could have significant implications for Trump, who has blasted Cohen ever since his former fixer and his attorney, old Clinton hand Lanny Davis, began signaling this summer that Cohen might cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
When reached by NBC, Davis said he cannot comment on advice of counsel since there is an ongoing investigation. Cohen has previously denied wrongdoing.
The New York Times reported that Michel Cohen agreed today to plead guilty to the campaign finance charges that were brought against him. He told the prosecution that he had paid a porn star token quiet about an affair she claimed to have had with Donald Trump.
The President’s former lawyer is also set to plead guilty to numerous counts of tax fraud and bank fraud.
At roughly 2 p.m. this afternoon, Cohen surrendered himself to the FBI at their Lower Manhattan offices. Cohen’s plea deal does not require him to cooperate with Manhattan federal prosecutors, however it does not stop him from giving Mueller’s team information.
Fox News reports:
A source familiar with the deal told Fox News that it includes a guilty plea and jail time of between three and five years. The deal does not involve a cooperation agreement with federal prosecutors.
Cohen is scheduled to appear at a New York federal court hearing at 4 p.m. ET. The Associated Press reports that he will plead guilty to charges including campaign finance violations, bank fraud and tax evasion.
It was reported by the Wall Street Journal in November of 2016 that the Playboy model was given $150,000 by the National Enquirer’s parent company, American Media Inc. The payment was in exchange for the rights to her story. The story was never run. President Trump has continually denied both the affair with McDougal and the affair with Daniels.
The prosecution is delving into any involvement Cohen had in the New York taxi industry. It was reported this past Sunday by the New York Times that investigators are trying to figure out if Cohen had committed bank fraud on more than $20 million worth of loans in his New York taxi business.
