Breaking News: At Least 8 Killed in Santa Fe High School Shooting, Explosives Found on Scene

Kirsters Baish| Authorities have confirmed that at least one gunman began to open fire on a Santa Fe high school campus this morning. At least eight people have been confirmed dead, most of which were students. Now, authorities have nodded at the possibility that explosives have been located on campus as well as one site off campus.

Authorities are urging anyone who sees anything suspicious to call 911 immediately.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez explained that he was unable to release the exact number of fatalities at the time. The school began a mandatory lockdown at roughly 8 a.m. this morning. It is believed that two suspects are in custody.

It was confirmed by the Santa Fe school district that there was an unspecified number of injured victims, however they did not give anymore details. Assistant Principal Cris Richardson stated that one suspect had been taken into custody.

“We hope the worst is over, and I really can’t say any more about that because it would be pure speculation,” Richardson said to the reporters who were flocking to the school. READ MORE
