Kirsters Baish| Former President Barack Obama’s Ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, was clearly up to something. After President Donald Trump’s joint summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, it was reported that Russian prosecutors named the former United States Ambassador as a person of interest in an ongoing investigation in Moscow, Russia. It seems that McFaul is a little on edge.
McFaul believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to go after him. All evidence points in the direction of McFaul having been the “bag-man” for both Clinton and Obama in Moscow. He was much more than just a regular government employee.
The former Russian Ambassador has an interesting past. Politics Central’s D. Manny wrote that McFaul was one of the first people to have spoken about the alleged Russian hack of the DNC.
Daniel Strauss wrote an article for Politico back in June of 2016 which was titled, “Russian Government Hackers Broke into DNC Servers, Stole Trump Oppo; The Hackers had Access to the Information for Approximately One Year.” In his article, Strauss inserted a comment from none other than Michael McFaul.
McFaul served as United States Ambassador to Russia between 2012 and 2014. He stated that the hack was “meddling” in their “personal affairs.”
He said to Politico, “I am sure they intended to do this without being caught. They wanted to obtain the information without it being detected. That’s a kind of target that would make sense — in terms of them wanting to know things about what is going on here. Whether they were doing it to try to try to [sic] manipulate our political process, I’d have to think about that.”
He continued, “Russia has tremendous capabilities, both the Russian government and their proxies and people somewhat affiliated with the government. We always underestimate their capabilities.”
First, such an odd choice from whom to seek a comment. What qualifications or expertise render McFaul an authority on matters such as Russian hacking? A search of Michael McFaul’s history shows he served as US ambassador to Russia two years prior to the Politco article, and what’s more, he previously made the news because Obama assigned McFaul to be an ambassador without having any prior diplomatic skills, to a major country like Russia too.
He also explained that it wasn’t long after McFaul had been appointed to his position as Ambassador to Russia that multiple Russian Communist leaders at the US Embassy approached him.
When McFaul was invited to appear in front of Congress’ Foreign Affairs Committee, and photos from the event say everything. It’s not so much because McFaul was in attendance, but more so because of who he was seated next to… Natalia Veselnitskaya.
At McFaul’s Congressional hearing took place eight days after Russian attorney Veselnitskaya had reportedly met with Trump Jr. Because of the meeting, Trump Jr. was questioned by Congress for hours.
The Russian attorney had been in attendance at Chicago’s Women’s March the day after President Trump’s inauguration. She has denied connections with the Russian Kremlin.
The Gateway Pundit reports:
Donald Jr. has admitted no such research was obtained and that the meeting was essentially fruitless.
What is more shocking is that Veselnitskaya met with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson, before and after her meeting with Donald Jr. Fusion is the firm behind the phony Trump-Russia dossier that was never confirmed and very possibly all made up but nevertheless was used by Obama’s Deep State to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on President Trump.
Now we know why Putin wants to ask questions of Ambassador McFaul. With McFaul’s questionable past, no telling what illegal or corrupt actions he has participated in during his time with Obama.
