This Tuesday, a United States official was reportedly arrested and smacked with criminal charges after leaking confidential financial docs with direct relation to the Russian embassy, President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort, and alleged Russian spy Maria Butina.
A senior advisor on the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, 40-year-old Natalie May Edwards, was arrested this Tuesday after allegedly leaking the docs to a BuzzFeed reporter, Jason Leopold, as reported by a Wednesday Manhattan federal prosecutors announcement.
The question has been brought up whether or not Edwards leaked Michael Cohen’s personal financial info to Stormy Daniel’s creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti.
Natalie May Edwards, a senior adviser in the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), was arrested on Tuesday and charged with unauthorized disclosure of suspicious activity reports, according to the office of U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman. She was expected to make an initial appearance in Virginia federal court later in the day.
Suspicious activity reports are submitted by banks to alert law enforcement to potentially illegal transactions. Prosecutors said that beginning in October 2017, Edwards disclosed suspicious activity reports connected to Manafort and his longtime associate Richard Gates, the Russian embassy and accused Russian spy Maria Butina.
The disclosures were reported in a series of articles in BuzzFeed related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of possible coordination between U.S. President Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign and Russia, according to prosecutors.
CNBC writes that the official is being charged with unlawfully disclosing so-called “suspicious activity reports” (or SARS) and conspiracy to disclose SARS. Both of these felony charges could earn her five years in prison as a maximum sentence.
The official, who is a Quinton, Virginia resident, is set to appear in front of a judge in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia later in the day on Wednesday. Edwards’ lawyer did not come forward to release a statement.
The whole Mueller witch hunt is a total fraud. The entire thing is based off of a fabricated document that was funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC, who have been dead set on taking down President Trump.
As Judicial Watch’s president Tom Fitton always says, “Shut it down!”
