K Baish| Former Mayor of New York and current lawyer to President Donald Trump himself, Rudy Giuliani, stated that if Trump were to be impeached, “the American people would revolt.” Giuliani made the comment during an interview with Sky News.
“You’d only impeach him for political reasons, and the American people would revolt against that,” Giuliani stated on Thursday.
Giuliani was then asked if the President was headed toward “inevitable” impeachment. He answered matter-of-factly, “Hardly.” Then he stated that things have “turned very much in the President’s favor.”
To the question of impeachment Giuliani said, “I think it’s inevitable that he won’t. President Trump is completely cleared. You have this Cohen guy, he doesn’t know anything about Russian collusion, doesn’t know anything about obstruction.”
Cohen spent time serving as a lawyer to President Donald Trump, however he was fired earlier this year. He has since been stuck on top of a mountain of legal trouble. This past Tuesday, as we previously reported, Cohen caved, agreeing to a plea deal with the prosecution. He entered a guilty plea to eight criminal counts inside a Manhattan federal court. Those charges included tax fraud, making false statements to a bank, in addition to campaign finance violations which happened during the time that he was working for the President.
The former lawyer to the President also implicated Trump this past Tuesday, claiming that he had stopped information from making it to the public because he was aware that it would have had a negative effect on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office.”
Giuliani also called Cohen a “massive liar” during the interview with Sky News.
“I think impeachment would be totally horrible. I mean, there’s no reason. He didn’t collude with the Russians. He didn’t obstruct justice. Everything that Cohen says has been disproved,” Giuliani said.
