Kirsters Baish| The railroads of the United States of America are so desperate to find new employees to hire, many of them are resorting to offering large incentives, for example a $25,000 signing bonus for new employees. America is on track to “full employment” in the Trump administration era. President Trump is making big moves in our nation’s economy.
Some American railroad corporations are now offering cash incentives while the freight volume continues to exponentially grow due to the high demand on shippers as the economy continues to boom, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.
Union Pacific Corp. and BNSF Railway have both seen large spikes in business since President Trump has taken office. The issue is that after years of less volume in business, these companies suddenly need more employees.
The over-the-road-trucking industry has seen a very similar need for new employees based on spikes in volume. Some of this shipping is being pushed to the railroads. Breitbart reports, “In fact, many trucking companies are offering similarly large signing bonuses as the economy picks up. The railroads have taken to Twitter to advertise their need for new employees.”

Union Pacific offered $25,000 bonuses to new employees which will be issued in multiple payments, as said by the reports. The new employee has to remain at the same job for a period of three years. The Journal reported that Union Pacific also warned that if any of these new employees quit within this time period, they will have to repay any bonus that they received to date.

Breitbart News wrote, “NSF spokesperson Amy Casas admitted that the hiring climate is tight, according to WCMH TV. ‘Hiring has become more difficult,’ Casas said. ‘This year, BNSF expects to fill more than 3,500 hourly positions across our network in areas including our transportation, engineering, dispatching and mechanical crafts.'”
Texas-based Union Pacific has announced its offering signing bonuses of up to $25,000 for new hires. Nebraska-based BNSF Railways is offering bonuses of $10,000 to $15,000 for new employees in the mechanical division at their Alliance, Nebraska location.
The bonuses are intended to spur interest in railroad jobs amid a difficult hiring environment.
“Hiring has become more difficult,” BNSF spokesperson Amy Casas told the Dallas Business Journal. “This year, BNSF expects to fill more than 3,500 hourly positions across our network in areas including our transportation, engineering, dispatching and mechanical crafts.”
At Union Pacific, the $25,000 bonuses are doled out in multiple payments, and the employee must stay at their assigned location for three years, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. If an employee leaves before their three years are up, they will have to pay back the bonus.
While the left continues to complain about President Trump, he is doing great things for our country’s economy. They cannot deny that. It’s a fact.
